The Seventh National Aviation System Planning Symposium will provide a forum for the broad range of stakeholders involved in planning the future aviation system to explore the challenges and opportunities of the next decade and beyond. Building on the success of the last National Aviation System Planning Symposium held in Daytona Beach in May 2006, the symposium will examine recent trends and developments affecting aviation system planning, present the results of the first studies of the Airport Cooperative Research Program and discuss future policy, funding and research needs to strengthen the aviation system planning process.
Program topics to be addressed in the symposium include:
- Anticipating the future demand for aviation
- Meeting airport system capacity needs
- Implementing the Next-Generation Air Transportation System
- Air service development at smaller airports
- Future role of air cargo in goods movement
- Achieving airport land use compatibility
- Case studies in airport system planning
The symposium will be held in the scenic setting of the Asilomar Conference Grounds on the California coast near Monterey.
